At one point in our lives, we have imagined ourselves travelling either back to the past or towards the future. Although this kiddie ride is right at the centre of a busy suburb on the Gold Coast, it is oozing with a lot of history especially amongst the locals because it is around for over 120 years. Taken down for two years for restoration by the Gold Coast City Council, the Charity Carousel was brought back to the Broadbeach Mall in 2009 to continue the historical fun it brings to each of its riders. Now that it is run by the Southport Rotary Club, you can catch the Charity Carousel in operation Mondays through Thursday at 9am – 4pm, Fridays through Saturdays at 9am – 9pm, and Sundays at 9am – 4pm.
