One of the most exciting and action-packed sporting challenges in Australia, the NetFest netball event will once again bring a wicked weekend of great fun and happy vibes as netball professionals from around Australia and New Zealand.
Happening on 16 to 19 October in different locations across the Gold Coast, this four-day tournament is an extraordinary combination of netball, nightlife, sun, sand, and surf, as well as great food and fun entertainment – all happening on the wonderful Gold Coast.
NetFest features a selection of traditional or outdoor netball challenges, or beach netball tournaments, along with a wide array of social activities on Australia’s favourite holiday destination.
NetFest has quickly established itself to become among the most famous and most-anticipated events on the netball calendar. With only 500 participants joining on its debut year, the number of participats has more than doubled two years ago, drawing 1,757 netballers from around Australia and New Zealand.
Happening on the Surfers Paradise beach, the beach netball competition is perfect for those who love the rolling surf and sundrenched sands. This challenge welcomes female or different teams. Teams can sign up not more than six players, with a maximum of four players allowed on the court at any one time. Games are shorter, although you’ll find out how gruelling it is playing on the sand.
Meanwhile, the Outdoor Netball will be held at the Firth Park, on the edge of the splendid Gold Coast Hinterland. This challenge is also open to female or mixed teams. Each game is played over two halves of more or less 10 minutes for every match. The exact length of matches is decided upon by the number of teams in each category although all teams play all other teams within their group.
