Gold Coast Green Week is just about to get started, promising nine days of non-stop family activities, exhibitions and tours across the region, all designed to celebrate our rich native wildlife and promote environmental issues.
Highlights of the planned program of events include an environmentally friendly whale watching event, a fascinating discount price Geo-nature tour of the lush rainforest of Springbrook National Park, food markets, a completely free open day at the Australian Bat Clinic, a guided bushwalk and a cultural tour of Currumbin Creek.
Green Week will close with a family orientated Wildlife Expo, complete with snakes, small mammals, frogs and crocodiles, as well as live aboriginal dances, speeches from wildlife experts and interactive workshops.
