Explore the Gold Coast’s National Parks
As well as long, sandy beaches, internationally renowned dining and world class theme parks; Queensland’s Gold Coast is also home to many of the most spectacular National Parks in Australia. Here are just three of the parks within easy reach by car of our Broadbeach holiday apartments.
Springbrook National Park
Set a day aside to explore Springbrook National Park’s 2720 protected hectares of dense rainforest, magnificent rivers and fragrant eucalyptus forest, only a short drive from Queensleigh resort. Numerous hiking trails wind across the park, taking in huge, ancient trees, clear tumbling waterfalls and rare plant life.
Burleigh Head National Park
This popular park is nestled between Surfers Paradise and Coolangata and is a must-visit for nature lovers, offering rare glimpses of some of our most rare animals in their natural habitat. Look out for sea eagles soaring through the sky, Australian Brush Turkeys and even humpback whales frolicking in the waves during breeding season. In between wildlife watching, you can settle down for a scenic picnic in one of the many peaceful picnic spots or unwind somewhere quiet with a good book.
Tamborine National Parks
Just west of Surfers, Tambourine National Park boasts large areas of dense eucalyptus forest, cool lagoons secluded by piccabeen palm groves, rocky outcrops and towering waterfalls. It is a hit with birdwatchers, with regular sightings of the noisy pitta and the rare Albert lyrebird. Pack a picnic and spend a day exploring one of the hiking trails that weave across this stunning area of natural beauty - don’t forget your binoculars!
